Sunday Ride Report by Simeon Orme
After raining through the night and still raining in the morning, I found Fred & Pat sitting in Derek’s Camper Van with Derek. We decided to stay on the tarmac and ride over to Coniston; we pick a route through the lanes to Coniston via the Drunken Duck Inn, Knipe Fold and Tarn Hows.

After coffee we headed back toward Hawkhead via Atkinson Ground and then followed the B5285 through Near Sawery and Far Sawery to the Ferry House where we stop for lunch in the bus shelter.

As it does in the Lakes after raining all morning, the sun finally got out for the afternoon, we were rewarded with fine views of Windermere and later on after lunch has we were cycling along the white road/ bridleway which run along the shore of Windermere to the Church at Low Wray, Pat spotted a Slow Worm in the middle of the track. After Derek taken its picture, Fred move it to side of the track, we carry on back to the campsite.
