14th September 2002 ride around the Cartmel Area

14th September 2002: A ride around the Cartmel Area, ride report by Simeon Orme
As I was the only member to turn up for this Meet. I decided to have quick bash through the lanes. So after leaving Cartmel, I headed towards Cark and then followed the B5278 towards Haverthwaite. At Low Wood I turned off onto the Cumbria Cycle Way to follow it through to Greenodd. Turning north through Penny Bridge to Colton, I followed a white road over Colton Heights with fine views over the South Lakes before dropping through Height Spring Wood (A Woodland Trust) and Dockney Wood (NT) to Old Hall Farm.

On rejoining the tarmac, I followed the lanes through Bouth and Finsthwaite to join the A590 at Newby Bridge with lunch at Staveley-in-Cartmel before taking the lanes back to Cartmel town.
